WHAT’S INCLUDED IN YOUR £150 WEBSITE MIGRATION?

Screenbuzz takes care of the technical work required to move your website from your existing hosting provider to Screenbuzz.

Before the migration begins, we’ll check your existing website and hosting setup to make sure everything required for the move is in place.

Once the migration is complete, we’ll check the website on its new hosting to make sure everything is working as expected.

WHAT ABOUT MY EMAIL?

Moving your website doesn’t necessarily mean moving your email.

If you already use a separate email service such as Microsoft 365, it can remain in place while your website moves to Screenbuzz. We’ll check the relevant DNS records as part of the migration process.

If your email is currently provided by your existing website host and needs to be moved too, speak to Screenbuzz. Email migrations are quoted separately depending on the number of accounts and the work involved.

CAN EVERY WEBSITE BE MIGRATED?

Most WordPress websites can be migrated to Screenbuzz hosting without rebuilding them.

Some website platforms work differently. Websites built using services such as Wix, Squarespace or Shopify generally cannot be moved directly to another hosting provider in the same way.

If you’re not sure what your website is built with or who currently hosts it, don’t worry. Send Screenbuzz the details you have and we’ll take a look.

Complex websites may require additional work. If that’s the case, we’ll explain what’s involved and provide a separate quotation before any work begins.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I MOVE TO SCREENBUZZ?

1. WE CHECK YOUR WEBSITE
We look at your existing website, hosting and email setup and confirm what’s required for the migration.

2. WE PREPARE THE MOVE
Screenbuzz sets up your new hosting and prepares everything needed to move your website.

3. WE MOVE AND TEST YOUR WEBSITE
Your website is transferred to Screenbuzz hosting, SSL is configured and the website is thoroughly checked after the move.

4. SCREENBUZZ LOOKS AFTER IT
Once the migration is complete, you have direct Screenbuzz support and your first year of Website Care and Security Maintenance is included FREE.

Straightforward answers to common questions about Screenbuzz website migration.

What does the £150 website migration include?

The £150 one-off migration covers moving your existing website to Screenbuzz hosting, setting up the hosting account, transferring the website files and database where applicable, configuring the website on the new server, setting up SSL, making the required DNS changes and checking the website after the move.

Complex websites or migrations requiring additional work may need a separate quotation. We’ll let you know before any work begins.

Can every website be migrated to Screenbuzz?

Most WordPress and traditionally hosted websites can be migrated.

Websites built on closed platforms such as Wix, Squarespace or Shopify generally cannot simply be transferred to another hosting provider. If you’re unsure what platform your website uses, send us the details and we’ll check it for you.

Will my website look or work differently after the move?

No. A website migration moves your existing website – it doesn’t redesign it.

Once migrated, we’ll check the website to make sure it is displaying and functioning as expected on Screenbuzz hosting.

Will my website go offline during the migration?

We plan the migration to minimise disruption. Your existing website can normally remain live while the new hosting is prepared and tested.

There may be a short period while DNS changes take effect, but we’ll manage the process and check the website once the move is complete.

What happens to my domain name?

You don’t necessarily need to move your domain name.

In many cases your domain can remain registered with your existing provider while the DNS is updated to point your website to Screenbuzz hosting. We’ll check your existing setup and explain what is required.

What happens to my email?

That depends on how your email is currently set up.

If your email is connected to your existing hosting account and needs to be moved, we’ll discuss the options with you before the migration. Email migrations requiring additional work may be quoted separately.

I use Microsoft 365 for email - can I keep it?

Absolutely. Moving your website to Screenbuzz does not mean you have to move your Microsoft 365 email.

We’ll check the relevant DNS records and make sure your existing Microsoft 365 setup is taken into account when the website is moved.

Can I still update my website myself after it has moved?

Absolutely. Nothing changes about how you manage your website.

You can continue logging into WordPress and making the same changes you normally make. Screenbuzz hosting doesn’t take away your access or control of your website.

How long does a website migration take?

Most straightforward website migrations can be completed relatively quickly once we have the access details we need.

The exact timescale depends on the website, existing hosting provider, DNS setup and whether email is involved. We’ll check everything first and let you know what to expect.

What happens after my website has been migrated?

Once the migration is complete, we’ll check that your website is loading correctly, SSL is working and the main website functionality is operating as expected.

Your website will then be hosted by Screenbuzz, giving you a real person to contact whenever you need help.
